Long Nights Empty Long Nights

Post by Connor Kenway Thu Mar 14, 2013 1:14 am

It was past midnight on a Saturday night, and what better thing was there to do, other than to get drunk? A myriad of teens with fake ID's and other citizens were filling into a bar, hoping to have a good time and ignoring the fact that they probably wouldn't even remember it tomorrow. The thumping bass could be heard from a few blocks away, and the flashing lights could have given anybody a seizure; yet people seemed to gravitate to the place. A wide variety of people littered the bar area: there were kids who were certainly under-age drinkers, but there were also haggard men who seemed to resort to alcohol to forget the ghosts that haunted them.

The deafening tone of fast-paced music and blaring lights should have given any sane person a migraine, but by now, Connor was used to it. You kind of had to be, if your job was being a bar tender. He exhaled slowly as he leaned against the marble wall, relishing in how the surface was cool behind his back. Connor rubbed the back of his neck to ease the tension that was settling there; it had been an irritable night full of drunk idiots, and it was far from over. The sound of giggling brought his attention back to the present as he looked up to find he had new customers. It was a trio of young girls, all looking giddy and swaying slightly to the music while texting furiously on their phones. Connor walked forward to them, crossing his arms on the countertop. He displayed his charming bartender facade, which was conflicting with the exhaustion he felt on the inside. "What can I get for you ladies tonight?" The one with auburn hair looked up from her lifeline--also known as her cellphone--and blinked rapidly before she was brought into the present. She swatted the other two girls, and they too, finally remembered they came to the bar for some drinks. The same auburn-haired girl held a finger to her chin before staring distantly into a corner and pursing her lips, as if thinking hard on the subject. She then straightened up as she smiled briefly and leaned forward, twirling a piece of hair between her fingers. "Hmm, you know what, Mr. Bartender? I think I'll take a cherry breeze martini. Actually, I think we'll all take one!" Her friends nodded in agreement, before returning their attention back to their phones.

Connor's eyebrow twitched as he repressed the urge to roll his eyes. Instead, he offered her another smile and reached beneath the bar. He pulled out bottles of cherry vodka, cranberry juice, pineapple juice, as well as a cocktail mixer. After filling the mixer with ice, he added the appropriate amount of each liquid before shaking the mixer. Soon enough, he was handing over three chilled martinis to the girls, each one garnished with a pineapple wedge. The girls handed over the appropriate amount of money before saying thanks. One of them squealed with delight at a text she got, and Connor visibly cringed at the piercing sound. Swiftly making his way over to the opposite side of the bar to escape the superficial girls, he took out a clean rag and began wiping down the countertop of any debris. Glancing at the watch on his wrist, he groaned inwardly to see that the time hadn't seemed to move at all. He sighed and cursed under his breath. It was going to be a long night.

NEVER LOSE HEART

Suni
"Akihiko!"
A voice tried to sound over the headache inducing noise. Of all the places his stupid friends had to bring him, here is where they chose? He could get in serious trouble, not just with mother, but with the law as well. He was under age still, barely. As was she, and the bouncer at the door noticed that.
"Sorry miss I can't let you inside."
"My brother is in there I am here to take him home! Let me in, I will not be in there for more then five minutes! I will gather my idiot and leave!"
The burly man looked left then right, and quickly moved the rope in front of the door to usher her inside with a hand between her shoulder blades.
"Five minutes, get your brother and then leave."
It was even worse inside! Being bounced around this way and that by drunk people was not pleasant, and Naomi was not pleased. Her cobalt eyes clawed through the crowd, looking over any face she could see to try and find her brother. Someone pulled at her raven black hair, and she shouted in pain before quickly scurrying away to the bar. Damn these people! They had no respect for others! How Naomi wished she could just go home and let her brother fend for himself.
What a moron he could be.
She caught her breath, figuring she still had a few minutes. Lifting her head, she took notice of the barkeep tending to his precious work station. Perhaps he had seen a sign of her brother. Naomi approached, avoiding a man that looked like he was about to vomit, before resting her hand on the edge of the bar to lean closer. This place was so cursedly loud, she had a hard time hearing herself think.
"Excuse me!!"
She said over the music, trying to get the mans attention.
"Have you seen my brother?! He looks just like me but with much shorter black hair and a few inches taller! I need to bring him home!"

Long Nights Empty Re: Long Nights

Post by Connor Kenway Thu Mar 14, 2013 1:44 pm

Connor pinched the bridge of his nose for a minute before turning to find the source of the disembodied voice. He braced his arms on the bar before leaning forward to hear her words over the pounding bass and fast music. He furrowed his brow as he tried to recall the people who had visited his bar throughout the night. Now that she mentioned it, the face did look kind of familiar. Connor drummed his fingers on the counter for a moment, but then it hit him. "You know what, I think you're in luck. Just about half an hour ago I saw a group of younger kids stumble here. I remember because I had already served them so much, so I declined them any more alcohol. Plus, they did look underage, and I felt a bit guilty at this point. However, some of them did go to the men's restroom, I'm assuming to hurl up the alcohol. I'm certain your brother was one of them."
Connor broke eye contact and pointed to the location of the restroom, and then chuckled. Turning back to the raven-haired girl, he said, "Now if you're a sane person, I doubt your gonna want to head in there. Unless, of course, you have some weird fetish for the stench of vomit and piss. I could go fetch him for you, save you the trouble." Connor honestly could use a break from polishing glasses and serving drinks. Even if that break meant heading into that hell-hole where her brother was probably located.

NEVER LOSE HEART

Suni
The man behind the large bar mentioned that he did see them. That was good news! But next came the horrible news, they were most likely in the bathroom. Lovely, she couldn't fathom going in there. God knew what was going on. But then the man was kind enough to offer to see if he was there for her, and she nodded in response.
"If you would be so kind I would truly appreciate it!"
She responded, turning her head to her wrist to check the time on her thin black watch. She only had about two minutes left before the bouncer would most likely escort her out. That would not be so bad right now, she cold use a break from this horrid place. Removing her glasses she rubbed the bridge of her own nose, only a few minutes and she hated this place. If Akihiko ever came back here again she would kick him to the moon and back. Him and his horrid habits and friends, he could really be a thorn in her side at times.
He always said he needed to protect her, but most of the time she was the one protecting him. Lovable oaf he was though. For the time being Naomi took a seat at the bar, only trying to rest her already hurting body. Being elbowed and kicked this place and that was not nice. Did someone actually hit her rear? Because that even hurt.

Connor excused himself from the lady and exited the bar area. Gently pushing people aside, he quickly made his way to the bathroom while attempting to hold his breath from the horrid smell of alcohol emantating from everyone. Connor grimaced as he had to detach himself numerous times from the clutches of different drunks as they stumbled and laughed obnoxiously. Finally making it across the room to the restrooms, he mentally braced himself and breathed a sigh before heading into the bathroom. Immediately the pungent odor of alcohol, piss, and vomit attacked his senses, and his eyes watered terribly. Holding a hand to his nose and scowling, he scanned the restroom. A few guys were passed out, beer bottles in hand and slumped against the cool tile. Connor's eyes settled on a stall, that seemed to be emitting smoke. With an irritated scowl, Connor kicked down the door and roughly grabbed a kid that was smoking a joint. "No smoking here, you fucking retard!" He snarled and threw the guy out of the restroom.
Connor was loosing hope for finding the girl's brother. Eventually, though, Connor's eyes settled on a young kid with black hair and a familiar face; that had to be him. He looked pale and shaken; he must not drink too often. Connor made his way over to him before shaking him slightly. "C'mon, your sister's looking for you, and I came to get you out of this shit hole." Connor gently grabbed the boy's arm and escorted him out, once again making his arduous journey back to the bar. Once he reached the bar, he sighed heavily and approached the girl. "And here we are. There seems to be no harm done, save for the promise for a really bad hangover in the morning."

NEVER LOSE HEART

Naomi really wished she had a book right now, then she could stand being here. But luckily a few moments after he disappeared, the bartender came back with Akihiko in tow. The young man looked tired, shaken, and pale. Served him right! Now some might expect Naomi to gently lead her brother home, wrong. With a mighty smack to the back of his head, she began pushing and shoving him through the crowd, cursing him with a cool tone yet it was firm. Naomi was not angry, just disgusted and annoyed he would do this. His friend tried to shout of the crowd, saying they would come back next week.
Naomi rolled her eyes as she placed her glasses back on her face. She turned back to the bartender as they walked away.
'If he does come back, he usually carries his cell phone with him at all times. Just call me, Naomi, and I'll drag his idiotic ass home."
With that she began leading her brother toward the door again, Akihiko just trying to figure out where he was right now. The bouncer nodded as she walked past with her drunken sibling and half lead half dragged him down the street. Naomi muttered about how she would need many showers to get the stench of the place off her, and how irritated she was that she had to come away from work to do this for mother. Akihiko would never hear the end of this.

THROAT OF GLASS

The music was live, the explosive beats rumbling through the narrowing bones of those who felt the rhythm more clearly than those who hadn't. Many sweaty bodies bounced and swayed with one another in synchronization, looking like an ocean of lurid waves created by God's flesh. Women wore those ridiculously high heels with those skimpy dresses, showing no respect for their sacred groves. Small stages that held stripper poles were placed here and there, utterly fit women wearing angel wings and skimpy outfits dancing provocatively around the silver beams. ”How digusting...” a demon muttered under the bellowing music, slithering his broad body through the wiggling stream of moist bodies. A few hands that belonged to a circle of women caressed his chest as he passed by, their giggles stinging his ears with vexation. If no one had been around, he would have easily torn those filthy limbs right off of his chest, and then their body, too. Pushing forward, he jerked away from the thirsty women and continued forth towards the bar, a place he found himself at rather commonly now after befriending the bartender, Connor. He was a chill guy, one who never got on Nero's nerves. He had this relaxed demeanor that Nero could relate to, immediately falling as allies.

When Nero had reached the bar, his fellow bartender hadn't been in sight, so he casually sat down on one of the iron stools and tapped his claws against the glass bar, the eerie clanking of his demonic fingers drumming to the beat of the metal song that boasted from the speakers beside the DJ. This being's attire was a style that was more so for comfort rather than looks. The twenty year old donned a long, deep onyx trench coat with a vest the hue of sheer crimson, a hoodie connecting to the shoulders that plucked out over the trench coat. A black muscle-shirt could be seen worn under the hooded-vest, scooping just below the man's collar bones. He wore his typical pair of black pants and brown mid-calf boots, though tonight he had left his gun holsters on his bed. He had finished work early today, and didn't really feel like exposing his part of the O.A.P.D. Turning his head, the blasé look that once confiscated his face shifted to a more friendly look as his eyes found his friend, waving his ghastly blue hand. “Connor!” he shouted over the music, grinning slightly. “Amaretto and coke.”

Connor's head whipped up at the familiar voice and he grinned back at Nero. He couldn't help but be relieved at seeing a friendly face; he may have gone crazy otherwise. When Connor first applied as a bartender, he thought it would be a cool experience, and that it would pay well. Evidently he was wrong; all he ended up with was a bunch of abhorrent drunk people who were shitty tippers. Dealing with heavily intoxicated people for hours was not a good time, and at this point Connor might have considered Nero as his savior from insanity. "Right away," Connor replied somewhat sarcastically before walking behind the opposite side of the counter. Connor retrieved a glass from under the bar and poured the amaretto and coke in it; it really was a simple alcoholic beverage. He gave Nero his drink and crossed his arms on the countertop. "Nero, what brings you here tonight? This isn't exactly the place someone comes because they're bored. They either want to get laid or get drunk. And I don't think you're the type of guy who sleeps around with a bunch of chicks." Connor looked up at the crowd before him and frowned slightly at the women who were throwing themselves at men, wearing outfits that showed way too much skin. "Seriously, what the fuck happened to letting the imagination wander?" Connor mumbled under his breath before shaking his head slightly.

THROAT OF GLASS

When the native bartender caught Nero's gesture, he gave him a nod and sarcastically replied, "Right away." The demon grinned at the man's fair share of sarcasm, his eyes then glancing off to the side as Connor mixed his drink. The strippers who clung to the poles all did their own thing, hooking one leg around it and spinning downward, their wings glittering in the strobe lights above. "So Nero, what brings you here tonight? This isn't exactly the place someone comes because they're bored. They either want to get laid or get drunk. And I don't think you're the type of guy who sleeps around with a bunch of chicks," Connor's voice intruded Nero's horrifying watch, turning towards the front to see his drink before him. A brutal grin cranked the right corners of Nero's lips, his demonic hand grasping the drink. "Just here to allow the Devil's Poison to succumb to my body! Had a fucking long day at work. Got yelled at for killing one of the targeted men. I told 'em it was an accident, but..." he smirked, putting the glass up to his grimacing lips. The cool alcohol rushed into his mouth, the icy cubes lightly tapping against his top lip as he dipped the cup upward. "They know me better than that," the demon bantered in a sardonic tone, placing the glass down. "Seriously, what the fuck happened to letting the imagination wander?" Connor mumbled under his breath just then, shaking his head slightly at the sight of begrimed women.

Looking over his shoulder, Nero's sporadic eyes observed the women with disgusted eyes. How pathetic it was to see these impure imbeciles lure men in through such foul tactics. The sleazy dresses that tightly wove around their bodies, the smudged makeup beneath their eyes that looked like black tears due to the sheets of sweat that broke loose from their gasping pores. And then, the provocative dance moves that made them look like suffering fish, swaying and wiggling their corrupted bodies. "Humph, its a damn shame," Nero muttered under his cold breath, his eyes flashing away from the grungy women. "But then again, it's not so bad. A man's mind sometimes expects too much. Saves us from drastic disappointment," he grinned, his cool voice smooth beneath the obnoxious club music. Taking another sip that put an end to his alcoholic beverage, he swallowed it slowly as he stared at the class cup, the ice glaciers within clanking against the cold glass. "So," he scoffed, pressing his lips tightly for a minute as the beverage sunk in. "Anything eventful happen here tonight?" he smirked, handing him the glass to have another.

Connor laughed harshly and shook his head at Nero's mishap at work. "Well, that sounds about right for a day at work for you. I don't really see how kiling someone can be an accident, as I imagine you aren't the most merciful person in the world. That's just my guess, though; for all I know, you could actually be a softy." Connor threw a lopsided grin at him before absentmindedly fidgeting with the cuff of his blazer. His gaze shifted to the dancers for a moment as the pair briefly conversed about them. Thank god work had died down, and given him the time to converse with Nero, someone intellegible in exchange for the usual drunken slurs of customers. Soon enough, Nero was done with his drink. "So, anything eventful happen here tonight?"Taking the glass from him with a smirk, Connor refilled it with ease and handed it back to him. For a minute, Connor considered placing the bottles back under the bar, but decided against it, in case Nero needed another serving.
Connor gave a noncommittal shrug and breathed a sigh. "Eh, the usual. Some chick tried hitting on me, but in the middle of her pick up line, she hurled right into the trash can. It was such a turn on, I had to restrain myself from kissing her right then and there. So, I decided to turn around and walk away. She was probably too good for me anyway. Hmm, what else... a girl walked in here, trying to find her wasted brother. Being the good samaritan that I am, I walked into the bathroom and retrieved him. I also discovered that potheads apparaently find this place dandy, so I kicked that guy out. All in all, a pretty average night."

THROAT OF GLASS

“Well, that sounds about right for a day at work for you. I don't really see how killing someone can be an accident, as I imagine you aren't the most merciful person in the world. That's just my guess, though; for all I know, you could actually be a softy,” the bartender assumed, throwing a lopsided grin in Nero's direction. “Oh yeah. Total softy,” Nero smirked, taking a sip of his refilled poison. I also discovered that potheads apparently find this place dandy, so I kicked that guy out. All in all, a pretty average night." Nero arched a brow at the series of unfortunate events that rolled into Connor's night, a chuckle brushing his lips momentarily. ”That would have been one hell of a kiss, Connor. Should have pulled her in and made a move,” Nero teased. “I don't see why potheads come here... I'm sure the strobe lights and loud music makes them shit their pants. I'd be tripping like hell if I were stuck here on some herb. God knows what fucking kids smoke these days...” Nero grunted.

“S-stop! Don't touch m—“ “Bitch, quit complaining and get over here! I jus' wanna' get to know 'ya a tad better!” a drunkard slurred, his jerky movement tainted with intoxication. A heavy sigh drifted from the demon's lips. Picking up the glass cup, his corpselike eyes gazed at the poison for a brief moment before bringing it to his ice lips and downing in, slamming the cup down. “Excuse me,” Nero said politely. Rising from his own personal hell, the hellion crept silently through the iron gates with a look of cruel bereavement caressing his aesthetic aspect, eyes inflamed with calamity. Cocking his head to the right, a sharp crack stunned the air, a low smirk of malice corrupting his lips. “This party's gettin' started...” he stated in a divine tone, coolly walking towards the struggling commotion. The lush man soaked in alcohol roughly held the poor martyr in his cruel grasp, his jaw tightening from the frustration that feasted upon her stubbornness. Through anger, the man smacked the girl across the face, her shrilling wince stinging the air. The demon narrowed his eyes. Appearing behind the two, an ominous glow rose from the crooks and dips of the man’s inhuman arm, his claws twitching in anticipation. “Do you really want to play those cards, fuckface…?” a voice so relaxed questioned, the demonic claw suddenly lurching forward and grasping onto the drunkard’s bent arm, stopping him from clutching the girl. Gasping as the man released his hold, the girl quickly stumbled away from the two men with the given opportunity. With superb speed, the relentless demon twisted the man’s arm down and caused him to drop his beer, the glass shattering into a million shards beneath the beating music. The man let out a quick wince, though it was not yet music to Nero’s inhuman ears. With cold, ruthless sporadic eyes, he slammed his heinous palm down upon the man's elbow, allowing little strength to effortlessly flow to the palm for this strike. The man's elbow snapped inward, the beautiful symphony of bones shattering erupting the area. A bloodied bone intruded through his skin as it snapped in half, his onyx pupils shrinking to mere beads as the sweltering pain spawned within him. A few men and women screamed at the horrifying sight, pushing off from the bar and running off past the demon. A bloodcurdling scream ripped out of the man’s raw throat just then, his scream causing Nero to grin.

“Apologize to the girl,” he muttered with a dull smirk, his intoxicating voice falling flat and malevolent. The man peered up at the demon with ruined eyes, his teeth gritting. Spitting on Nero's shoes, the man barked up a storm. “Fuck you, you fucked up bastard!” Nero, still holding onto the man's arm, cracked a smirk, leaning in slightly. “Whaddya say? I don’t think I heard you correctly,” he commented, a light sneer escaping past his marbled lips. Nero twisted his broken arm even more. The drunkard let out a stringing yelp, much to Nero's displeasure. “No, no I want to hear an apology. Not a cry,” Nero corrected in a sarcastic manner. Though, his serpentine eyes caught a glimpse of the drunkard making eye contact with someone from behind, and the devil smiled widely at the sight. A slight shift of in the moist air pattered against his senses, and the demon released the man. With expeditious speed, Nero spun around and launched his elbow right into the face of another man, the crowbar that had been held in his hands clashing onto the ground. A loud crackle exploded from beneath the man’s now-shattered nose bridge, his mouth lurching open as if he were about to scream, but nothing came out. As he fell to the floor, his body writhed wildly as he cupped his face. Nero's leg suddenly swooped out from beneath him, kicking up the crowbar from its position on the ground. Whilst the bar was in midair, Nero grabbed the weapon and rashly leaned his lanky body forward, thwarting the bar forward and whacking a third man who was armed in the head with it. Still in his held stance from swinging the crowbar, Nero's eyes glanced down at the man with the broken arm, supposedly the leader of these pathetic morons. “You have a jacked up notion for fair play, pal,” he sighed. “But 'ya know, a fight every now and then does make life a bit more interesting!” the demon grinned, straightening his lanky torso as he no longer felt alarm, casually twirling the long crowbar in his fingers. Glancing down at the girl who had been struggling in the drunkard's tangling grasp earlier, Nero ran a hand through his white hair and smiled ever so charmingly, putting a halt to the twirl of the crowbar. “In the end, we're all satisfied,” he winked, causing her to look down in embarrassment, a faint blush coating her cheeks. Without saying her thanks, she rashly pushed through the crowd surrounding them, disappearing into the sweaty current of humans. “Humph, women...they never appreciate anything!” Nero chuckled as he dropped the crowbar on the man who had originally owned it, a leisurely pace becoming him as he sauntered back towards the other side of the bar with a deliberate slowness. Sitting back down before Connor, Nero looked up and grinned. “I'll be needing another one of those drinks, man.” Glancing over at a woman who took a seat beside him, he took great note of how dark her skin was, compared to her drastically platinum hair that sat upon her head. His ruthless eyes squinted at the unhealthy skin of the woman, and the demon made a disgusted look. “I will never understand the need to tan... It's like being set on fire. And fire's bad for the complexion. I burn easily, never tan!” Nero sarcastically informed as he turned to Connor, shrugging his broad shoulders.]

Long Nights Empty Re: Long Nights

Post by Connor Kenway Fri Mar 15, 2013 9:18 pm

Connor looked up, intrigued, at his friend's sudden change in behavior. His eyes followed Nero as he made his way over to a pair of people: a drunken man who was handling an unwilling girl. Connor tensed up as he watched Nero swiftly grab the man's elbow and yank him away from the girl. 'Some shit's about to go down,' Connor thought in his head, but his musings were ceased as he audibly gasped in horror. The gruesome sight of glistening blood and exposed bone caused a shiver to run down his spine, and Connor winced at the sight. The pain that Nero just inflicted had to be intolerable. Nero was inexplicably calm about the scenario as he muttered something to the guy. As a response, the man spat on Nero's shoes and yelled in his face. 'Seriously, are you that ignorant? You're asking to get fucked up,' The thought had barely crossed Connor's mind when the man screamed again; Nero twisted his already crippled arm even more. Connor could see another man inching towards Nero with a crowbar, and was about to call out to him when Nero whipped around quickly and slammed an elbow in his face. The man's hands shot up to his face, where a steady stream of thick blood was already flowing from his nose. He dropped to the ground soundlessly. Nero kicked the crowbar into his hands, and Connor couldn't help but smirk and roll his eyes at the flashy move. Nero made his way over to his original victim, and said something that would probably haunt the guy for a while, and make him regret his incompetent actions. Nero calmly twirled the crowbar between his fingers, as if it were a silent, yet deadly, threat to the man. Nero walked over to the girl and said something to her, but her face just flushed and she scurried away. Soon enough, Nero made his way back to his seat at the bar, and requested for another drink.

Connor stared at him somewhat incredulously before laughing lightly and handing over the beverage. Nero lightheartedly remarked something about tanning, and Connor shook his head lightly. Although, he did side with Nero's argument; the lady's appearance was a god-awful contrast. Connor would never understand why women wished to alter themselves so; couldn't they just be happy with the damn appearance they were born with? "You know, it must suck to not be as beautifully, naturally dark like me. I hear they've got counseling for that. Supposed to help raise your self esteem or some shit like that." Connor said sarcastically, before he recalled the events that just occured. His face, which held a grin not only seconds ago, contorted into one of slight confusion. "Woah, hold on a minute. You care to explain why you just completely fucked that guy up? I mean, cause at this point, I don't know whether I should be intimidated by you, or just come to terms with the fact you're fucking insane sometimes." He couldn't really grasp how Nero had been so quick to cause so much pain on someone; and with his fluid movements, it seemed as if he was well practiced.

Long Nights Empty Re: Long Nights

Post by Kaminari Saito Thu Mar 21, 2013 3:57 pm

Kaminari was wondering down an alley packed full of trash bags, paraphernalia pouring out the ripped open holes in the sides. She carefully avoided the gigantic potholes in the tar road, leaning against the brick walls that enclosed the pathway. She had been walking quite a while, and had only smoked two stogies. Feeling proud of herself, but against her best judgement, she reached in her secret pocket in her leather jacket for her new pack, she flipped a lucky and pulled out another to spark up. She pulled out a pack of matches and put the cig in her mouth to light. She puff-puffed and continued walking.
About a block or so over, Kaminari began hearing music, but not the pleasant kind, the sort of music that leaves your ears bleeding and makes you want to vomit just from the beat alone. She, of course, could tune it out with her singing, for that is her gift. She always relied on her ancestors hand-me-down, even in fights and sticky situations. Coming close to the building where the music originated from, Kaminari finished her cig and stomped on the ember with her left boot and walked towards the entrance with a feeling of regret.
The bouncer at the front door was quick to let her in, especially after she started talking. Her voice was convincing and soothing, with a hint of seduction and evil behind it. Anyone with a right mind could tell straight away her species, just from her voice alone. She jerked back the charcoal curtains blocking the entrance, the multi-colored lights blinding her the second she stepped foot in the room. Right away she knew that this wasn't the right place her. The glitter on the floor and the strippers grinding on the poles gave it away. Squeezing through the crowd to an unknown destination was quite the struggle for her. Kaminari pushed slutty girls and sexually aroused boys this way and that way, until she was in the middle of it all. The cherry red, bright blue, and piercing yellow flashing lights caused her to get overwhelmed. The music blasted in her ears and she sighed, taking it all in. One particularly under-dressed girl came sprinting head on towards her, face masked with something evil. Kaminari decided that it was best if she got out of there fast, but with this girl in the way, it might be troubling and intolerable. The girl looked around fifteen or sixteen, with short brunette hair that bounced every time she took another step. Her eyebrows burrowed in, her eyes were a startling crimson and her mouth was open and she was screaming something inaudible over the irritating rhythm. As she got closer, it became clear to Kaminari what she had to do.
Kaminari began counting softly aloud, "One." The girl was getting closer. "Two." People around her were not paying attention at all to this incident, was it all in her mind? "Three." The full-speed sprinter was now so close that you could see the outline of her pitch-black polka-dot bra through her white tube top. "Four." She hummed a lovely tune, waiting for impact. "Five." As the adolescent was not even five feet away, she clenched her right gloved hand and clocked the girl once in the face. Realizing that she was still walking forwards with a crazed look in her eyes, Kaminari clocked her again, and this time the teenager hit the ground with a thump. She turned, smirking and gracefully glided towards the bar. Sitting in the stool farthest from anyone, she played with her long, silky, platinum-white blonde hair and waited, politely for the bartender while humming a tune.

Long Nights Empty Re: Long Nights

Post by Connor Kenway Thu Mar 21, 2013 6:00 pm

Connor turned his head slightly as he saw a girl walk up and take a seat at the far end of the bar. Just fantastic, he thought. Another person wanting to get drunk. Connor then proceeded to place the alcohol bottles back into their proper place. He rubbed his temples for a moment, and addressed Nero. "I'll be right back man, I've got another customer to serve. " Connor instinctively tugged at his blazer and headed over to the isolated girl.
She was toying with her hair idly while humming, and Connor placed his hands on the counter before speaking. "Can I get you anything tonight?" Connor hesitated a moment as he caught another look at her face. She looked rather young, and Connor waited a moment before speaking again. "Excuse me ma'am, but how old are you? Do you have identification with you?" Usually Connor was okay with serving people that were underage; they were held accountable for their actions, and their decisions were their own. In a way, they kind of deserved the hell they brought upon themselves. However, Connor was uneasy about serving this girl. She looked almost fragile, with her pale blonde hair and tiny frame; she just didn't look like one to handle alcohol well. He felt a lingering trace of guilt from earlier, from when he had gone to retrieve Naomi's brother and his friends, and seeing the miserable state they were in.

THROAT OF GLASS

The low, elongated wub wub that surfaced whenever the beat sputtered caused this demon of snow to ever so slightly bob his head, the crystal glass tainting his lips. "You know,” the Native, started, Nero's cobalt eyes of abhorrence shifting towards the ally. ”It must suck to not be as beautifully, naturally dark like me. I hear they've got counseling for that. Supposed to help raise your self esteem or some shit like that." Is that so? The demon grinned at the bartender's cockiness, setting the drink down upon the glassy bar. He folded his elbows before the glass now, leaning in slightly; his right foot tapped along to the beat. ”Pathetic that such an opportunity exists...” he muttered, his demonic fingers tapping against the glass. Suddenly, such contorted expressions mustered his defined features, Nero arching a brow at the sudden change of mood. “Woah, hold on a minute. You care to explain why you just completely fucked that guy up?” Connor asked, Nero nodding his head in understanding. So that's why his facial expressions shifted. Ha. Man doesn't know me very well, now does he? A grin lapped the lips of this demon. ”I mean, 'cause at this point, I don't know whether I should be intimidated by you, or just come to terms with the fact you're fucking insane sometimes." Without hesitation, Nero lifted a hand and jabbed his pointer finger at Connor. “Fucking insane sounds apropos,” the demon smirked, the lifted hand now reaching for his poison. “A little fight every now and then does make life a bit more interesting, don't 'ya think?” the hellion grinned widely, tilting the cup to get more of the toxic substance. Lightly, the scent of smoke crawled within his sensitive nostrils, and his eyes immediately fleeted towards the source from where it had floated from; the overly tan chick. Leaning away by a smidgen, the corner of his upper lip twitched up in an appalled manner, narrowing his eyes. “Disgusting,” he grunted under his harsh breath, turning away. Women who smoked? Not attractive. The action, when women do it, just made them seem...masculine? In a sense. This demon smoked himself, yes. But he had his own preferences when it came to women. “Keep it classy, never trashy,” he muttered after his eyes caught the glimpse of a pole dancer twirling downward to her hell from the mirrored wall behind the bar, taking a sip of his drink.

I'll be right back man, I've got another customer to serve,” the Native informed, Nero looking down as he placed his drink down, his demonic hand wavering Conner off to go do his duty. His demonic hand reached over to his left pocket, shoving his right hand into it; though, he came out with no loot. A dent formed between his eyebrows out of slight agitation. Patting down his trench coat's breasts pockets, he finally grabbed a box of cigarettes and pulled out a cancer stick. Just then, a rather familiar song began to play, the demon grinning in somewhat satisfaction. “Silent words from a bleeding mouth,” his alluring voice of tranquility sang lowly, the sound of inhalation following his words, “—Swallows pride with a swollen tongue." The cigarette bud had bounced betwixt his marbled lips with each word spoken, the grey fumes crawling uniquely into the dark air of the club. Nonchalantly blowing out a ghastly cloud of smothering smoke, the white haired figure looked down at his glass, watching the ice slam down as tactile as black tar.

Long Nights Empty Re: Long Nights

]Kaminari scuffed, feeling offended by this man's tone. She raised one eyebrow and smirked. "I'm old enough."She dropped her hands, tugged on her leather jacket and got out a crisp fifty dollar bill, placing it on the table in front of her and sliding it across carefully. "I'd like your most popular drink, thanks." She turned and looked around at her surroundings, which she hadn't taken in very well. The strippers were quite close, which she felt uncomfortable with. Being so close to people who have not enough respect in themselves to cover up and get a higher-class job? She didn't like that idea. She turned back with a look of disgust on her face, which I'm sure wasn't pretty. Kaminari faced all of her attention on the bartender. He looked older and taller than her, which I guess wasn't that hard. He looked pissed off, or tired. Maybe both. Had she interrupted something? She looked around, spotting only a few people at the bar. The only one looking close enough to the bartenders age was a white-haired kid. He must be his buddy. She looked away, for she got a bad feeling from him. She closed her eyes for a second and looked up, tilting her head."I'm sorry, was I interrupting anything...important?" She smirked, sarcastically.

Long Nights Empty Re: Long Nights

Post by Connor Kenway Thu Mar 21, 2013 7:01 pm

Connor raised his eyebrows slightly at her claims, but said nothing as he made to prepare a Tahitian Mai Tai. It was very popular with the females of the bar due to its sweet nectar-like flavor. In a few fluid movements, he had poured white rum and several juices into a shaker and was now stirring up the concoction. Connor stole a glance at the girl while preparing her beverage. After she turned away from the strippers, her face held a mask of pure disgust. Connor smirked as he poured her drink into a cocktail glass and slid it across the bar to her, before giving her the change to the fifty. As he was handing her the money, he noticed her looking at Nero for a moment, then back to him. The girl smirked and addressed him with sarcasm tainting her voice. "I'm sorry, was I interrupting anything...important?"
Connor felt his the corner of his lip twitch from trying to hide a smile. He tried using a very straight-forward tone, but you could hear the slight amusement in his words. "As a matter of fact, my friend and I were just discussing how disappointing it is that women these days retain no modesty. It leaves no imagination for the common man, but as my friend brought up, it also saves us from drastic disappointment. Hmm, let's see... oh yes, I believe we were also talking about how teenagers these days are getting corrupted from irresponsible habits, such as underage drinking and other actions..." Connor trailed off and couldn't help but smile slightly at his retort.

"Sounds interesting. Now, when you say irresponsible, I sure hope your not talking about me." She smiled and sipped her drink, taking the straw out and chugging it. She sat the drink down on the table, and reaching for the change, she tucked it back in her jacket pocket and looked at him. "You're pretty irresponsible yourself, mister, for selling alcohol to underage teenagers. Shame." She teased lightly, chugging her drink once more. Kaminari can handle her drinks, she ain't a light weight. By looking at him, she concluded that he wasn't that bad, not only looks wise, and he was pretty sarcastic. He could probably hold about four or five drinks. They could be friends, could. She looked him up and down once more, and drank some more. She crossed her hands on the table. "Got anything stronger? She got the change out and set it on the table again.

Long Nights Empty Re: Long Nights

Connor made a mock face of hurt and he put his hand up to his chest. "Me... Irresponsible? Nonsense. These bastards come in here looking to get drunk without even giving a second thought to the consequences. Therefore, I let them fuck up and learn from their mistakes. In a way, I am teaching a very valuable lesson." He nodded solemnly before glancing at her money and being thrown back a bit at her request. "I just served you one of the strongest drinks for women, what do you want, straight up tequila?" Connor shrugged and retrieved a square glass from behind him and poured some whiskey. He wrapped his knuckles on the bar before addressing her once more. "Well if you'll excuse me, I must get back to my friend who is patiently waiting. If you need any more alcohol just signal me and I'll come over. However, I'd advise against that. This place is teeming with creeps, and if you're not aware of who is around you, you can get screwed over pretty quickly." Connor rolled his shoulders a moment before heading back over to Nero. He crossed his arms and said, "That chick over there, kind of reminds me of you. She's just as sarcastic as you, and she drinks pretty heavily."
